Default Service Manuals question: wire color codes?

I think I've scanned the whole "Wiring System and Power Management" chapter (chapter 11) and cant find where the color codes definitions for wires are.

I assume ".85 D-BU/WH" is a thicker wire thats blue with a white stripe. But we all know what happens when someone assumes. Anyone? I'm trying to find the wire coming out of the BCM to the dome light for footwell lighting.

Also, when a connector is "25-way F WH" I assume thats a 25pin connector thats white (WH)? Or is F a color?

ps- finding stuff in the shop manuals sucks. Once you find it, tho, there are great descriptions.

These color abbreviations are not listed anywhere I can find in the manual, either. They should be SAE standard colors and abbreviations.

    If it helps,
F means Female, M is Male (so "25 way F WH" is a white plastic 25 pin female connector)
    D-BU is Dark Blue
    L-GN is Light Green

The wire coming out of the BCM for the interior lighting is BU/WH from Pin 5 of Connector X2.

    Awesome! Thanks.

Does anyone have a link to the standard SAE color codes? Hm then again they all seem kinda of obvious.

There is no standard SAE table for wire color. Only for size. Colors are used by each manufacturer. Even color abbrev. is different among counties. While some use OR for orange, Holden uses OG.
I can look up any color code for Holden though.
Too long to post all Abbreviations.

This is old Holden info from 2000-2005 era.
Only slightly complete list and not current....eg Orange is shown as just O
They've even had a couple goes at spelling "colour" correctly.

    Thanks everyone!

Blue in the manuals is BU. So I guess they made up unique names from the Holden ones. Also they are D-BU and L-BU and D-GN and L-GN, etc. So I guess they use D- and L- for "light" and "dark" colors.

    Holden use metric colours.
