Default Well I just got a New Job and Career this afternoon

    Hi all,

Last Tuesday was a downer got a call from boss and was told I was being let go and I would be paid through February!

I sat thinking Now What the fuck am I going to do? I had been thinking about going to truck driving school but with what company?

I looked around and talked to a recruiter at https://www.wil-trans.com/ out of Springfield, MO. They are a smaller company family oriented and it felt good the more I talked to the nice lady recruiter and I filled out a application Tuesday and I have had 5 phone interviews since and the last one was this afternoon and was told I hit it out of the park and they want me up there February 5th or when ever my schedule is good.

I am tired of every few years being let go because management can't run a company right so I decided to make a drastic career change to where I can work till I retire since i am 56 now and most company's don't want old farts! I am really jazzed about the opportunity and I have taught myself to drive over 20 years ago so its not totally out of my element. I am going to go into it eyes wide open and learn from the professionals and enjoy this new path or highway I have got for myself.

So I am ready to take the new challenge in my life

Just thought I would share the good news with my friends here.

Drinking a cold Bud Light now to celebrate

Good fortune to you! Glad you found something that has you excited. With retirement not too far in your future, its good that you found a good path after getting the shaft from your previous employer.

Good luck. E-logs are fun. I hope the company isnt one to penalize you for a fast start or stop, idling too long, and keeps you moving, not waiting at a terminal for a possible load. Keep the shiny side up!
