No. Put a full exhaust on it with cut outs if you want the attention. Straight pipes are absurdly obnoxious, drone BADLY, and brings you unwanted attention from the po po. Best exhaust I've had on my G8 was the quietest, which was stock manifolds and a solo mach shorty cat back. Ive had the loud, cammed, exhaust tone and it got old after about 5 miles of driving. You cant hear shit and it drones from idle to ~3000 rpm.

Exactly. I think the noise would wear on you very quickly.
Never been a fan of straight pipes on anything, but maybe if you had a Civic.........
things are not what they appear to be.....

At the very least Jpipes - but the raspiness is going to be obnoxious.

Ran straight pipes (with Js) on my G8 for a while before headers. Still had stock exhaust otherwise. It wasn't bad.

With headers, I made sure to have mufflers on it. I had OBX axle backs (with the Js put on that) and they did well. OBX mufflers are pretty much just Magnaflow clones.

It was always my favorite exhaust...just not my neighbors
I ran 80K miles that way after adding J-pipes.
WARNING - it does crank loudly.

Sure. If you want your neighbors to stop talking to you. Wait. Do you even care about your neighbors? Got a kid a half mile or so over that leaves for work every morning at 4:15. Dodge diesel. Need I say more. I'm outside drinking my coffee some mornings at that time and I'm thinking, "I live 1/2 mile away. What an ass. Romping on it every stop sign. I bet his neighbors have stopped talking to him altogether." Yeah, so go ahead and put straight pipes on it. Commit social suicide.

I have headers, straight pipes, x-pipe, high-flow cats. It's only loud on startup. Drone...yes but j-pipes take care of that. I hear lots of cars that have less HP but are way louder than mine.

Only way you can get louder really is to run open headers...
