    Default Back In Blue.. (SS build)

    Even with being less and less on forums and more on facebook groups I always had to come back to the roots and check back here and the "other forum". Figured I would throw out a little update as I have moved over to the VF Platform (Still have both g8's)...

    Grabbed a 16 Slipstream Blue A6 car during the 20% and honestly couldn't be happier with it. It honestly takes all the aspects we love about the g8 and makes it that much better with the tech and interior upgrades..

    Well I will shutup now and get to the point of this thread, a little build thread showing my progress on the car. Hope ya enjoy!

    Day of delivery


    Trunk debadge and spoiler removal.



    High lip Spoiler installed with Holden Lion




    And some tints all around to cap off the first week.

    Time for some paintwork...

    Holden 1 piece door handles installed. Button to unlock has been sprayed PBM.



    Holden grill installed with bumper blackout kit.

    Also had the Front Grill fully shaved. SS badge indent plastic welded and filled as well as license plate holes.

    Picked up a set of wheels and installed a set of eibach springs...







    Not happy with the front gap of the eibachs at all..


    But In better news the RCR mani and tb are back from paint!


    I also picked up a set of Holley Valve Covers for the upcoming bay overhaul and bolt ons..



    Of Course they couldn't stay raw...

    Time for some go fast......

    Started off removing the stock catback and manifolds. Very odd seeing a double H pipe. I compared it to the stock 15 exhaust from my buddies car and it seems the 16+ does not have a mid muffler.



    Manifolds and stock garbage off the Kooks slid in without an issue. Decided on 12pt ARP for hardware as I am not a fan of the locking bolts kooks supply. Although not necessary I went with an 02 extension on the passenger side as there wasnt much slack.

    To finish off the headers I went with a set of tr6 plugs and Taylor wires.



    Time for the perdy things.

    Top end removed in favor of some RCR ported goodness.



    I went with a set of Holley Valve covers painted in SSB and some new stainless hardware to clean it up a bit..



    Swapped the Fuel rail for another stocker I had laying around. I had that painted gloss black as well as the RCR ported TB.



    Intake and TB all bolted up. All new ARP intake mani bolts and stainless hardware for the fuel rail.

    Ls7 Maf and a powder coated Spectre housing installed. Needed to swap to a 4" coupler on the tb side, but the vcm accepted the 4" housing with ease. As for the harness I went with an adapter to keep the stock wiring in tact.



    Mighty Mouse catch can time...


    Mounted it with a custom bracket that was modeled off their truck bracket. I was not a fan of the g8 style stud mount as the 2 ports are on the opposite side..

    As for the hose used I went with some summit braided and a set of earls covers to clean it up some.

    Overall I am very happy with the mount and design as it sits perfectly with the vcm panels.



    Other minor changes were evap delete, Heater hoses were moved slightly, and some wire harness tucking under the tb.

    Currently waiting on a dipstick cover and need to get some black rattle can and clean up the washer and coolant caps. But other than that I am very happy with the outcome.



    All of these upgrades were of course rounded off with a RCR tune. Car feels phenomenal and is ready for a nice tire to hopefully see it crack into the high 11's..

    Rounded off the bolt ons with a 3" solo catback mated to the kooks headers. Opted for 3.5" tips that fit perfectly with slight modification..

    I knew about your fast one, did not realize you had a GXP too. Now you have an SS for the trifecta. Nice color too.
