    Default AC part ID

I need to move/redesign the two lines coming out of the AC compressor. I found a block that will allow me to use aftermarket fittings and hoses, but I need to know what this block does in the OEM line. Can I remove it without making my AC inoperable?

Is it an accumulator of some sort?

I would bet the guys that make the super chiller, etc systems would know if no one here chimes in.

I have no idea what it could be. All my research comes up empty.

I would try to run down what it is... and if that fails, cut that piece out, flare the ends, and install it with whatever other lines you're switching to.

Looks like a filter/dryer. Short answer, Yes you can remove it.

It is a suction line filter/drier. It guards the compressor from debris in the refrigerant. Functionally you can remove it but would be wise to install an inline filter to keep you destroying an expensive compressor.
