    Default Sierra cam swap

Finished up the cam swap on the Sierra. Its an 08 5.3 4l60 with 180k on the clock. Put in Brian tooley racing stage 2 truck (212/218). Pulls nice through low-mid range all the way to 6k. The tach on the dash goes to 6k, so at wot it buries it, which is an interesting feeling for sure.

Used 8 lifters from my g8 and 8 from Toomanyhobbies, his g8 pushrods, and ls6 blue springs. Got some bits from greg@pace as well. Got all of the dod removal/swap parts for about 300, including new gaskets all around and fluids. Certainly a budget build, but the parts are happy together.

Shimmed the oil pump .120 per RickC, and she idles at 38psi hot, hits 60psi by 2k. Healthy iron block, still had plenty of crosshatching in all cylinders and bearings looked grrrr8. Was a fleet truck in its past life, and they obviously stayed up on maintenance. No other mods, just wanted to get the 180k old dod lifters outta there. I'm a happy camper!

Maybe, gas burners for sure. There's some awful proud diesels up here. Think I'd need a stall and gears to start rippin. She doesn't like the off the line part so much. I like it for what it is.

Ha, that's a new one. Think of the opportunities there! Of course, LS only.
