I run 93 in my GT
I look at it as this ..I use 100% synthetic oil in my motor ..why not high octane also.

This is interesting... I was curious when I picked up my GXP - No where in the manual is the 6.2 listed. Only the 6.0. I did find an updated(?) version on the Pontiac website. Curious...Originally Posted by terryscott621
You got my curiosity peaked, so I grabbed the trusty owner's manual and snapped a pic of what it says. It recommends at least 91, but you can use 87.
My GXP did not like 87 when I put it in there once. While the engine didn't knock it felt down on power. I am not sure if the computer retarded the timing once it figured out there was a lower grade of fuel in there or not.
