If it is what he'd describing and he likes the G8 when he see's it I'll probably be bringing her home with me next Sat. Now I've never bought a Nova so I'll be all over the web this week trying to learn their problem areas with rust and any other issues aside from the typical stuff to look for in a 43 year old car. I know to bring a magnet and mirror with me, but if any of you have experience with these cars any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If the body is straight and has little rust, there are a lot of possibilities for the Nova.
I did find Steve's Nova site, so information is available.
    Rest in Peace Charlie!

Found that last night too. I think I registered, but I can't remember. It was like 1:30 and I couldn't sleep thinking about it.

I completely agree. I just can't get the power I want out of the G8 living in CA and having to deal with smog without spending $10k or more. So in that scene the Nova has more potential for me. I also believe the value of the Nova will do nothing but go up especially with the bodywork and paint done. The G8 is loosing value even as it sits in the garage and every time I drive it I think about the miles I'm putting on it. Takes some of the fun out of it for me and fun is why I own it.

Every time I try to say do what you want, the image of Axel Foley's crappy blue Chevy Nova pops into my head. XD

True, the G8 may be losing value as it sits, but so will the Nova. Do you have any idea how much the current owner has into the car? Just opinion, but the classic/resto mod market isn't what it used to be, at least where I'm at.
People buy for different reasons, sometimes it's a memory-what you drove or wanted when you were a kid. Sometimes it's to make a ground pounding straight line monster. Been there, done both. 50's cars, are a good example. A lot of the appeal has gone by the wayside. The buyers market is getting older or getting out of the hobby, or just moving on. The cars are out there, but in the real world are they selling? What people ask, and what they wind up getting are two different things.
Not trying to discourage you, just go in with your eyes open. You might get back whatever you put into the Nova, and then again you might not.
