Default Oil Cooler (tons of info enclosed)

I went to a track day this past weekend, and my oil was getting very hot. So much so, that when i idled around the track, oil pressure dropped to 1 bar. So i just kept the revs up a little till the oil cooled down.
I want to fit an oil cooler, and was wondering which is the best adaptor to use.
I have seen on these forums, someone is using the Canton Adapter, and another is using the Katech adaptor, i assume this one:
    http://store.katechengines.com/bille...apter-p37.aspx
I see the Katech one states for an LSx block, will it work with our standard block?
Are there any others i should be looking at.
    Thanks

I've looked at Harrop's cooler before and will probably do it at some point. It's got the adapter to bolt right up to the bypass that CP posted a picture of.

You undo 2 bolts and remove the GM oil cooler blockoff piece from the side of your oilpan.

You're then looking at the oil ports (in and out) for an oil cooler.

You then install a gasket with a divider between the ports and fit the new oil cooler adapter on top of the divided gasket.

Thanks CP. What adapter is that in the pictures? I see it has a oil temp sensor port.

Huh. Good to know. So we could also mix up a custom system. It would be nice to have a bypass valve to shut off the cooler on colder days so the oil didn't get too cold. Would there be any downside you can think of, Paul, to having oil sitting in the cooler that didn't circulate?

That is why I was looking at the GM system. It is tied into the coolent system for that reason.
